May 03, 2010 | Kennon announces candidacy
(St. Clairsville, OH) – This week Diana Kennon of St. Clairsville filed petitions with the Board of Elections officially announcing her candidacy for Belmont County Commissioner.
Kennon stated, “Belmont County needs leaders with business experience who can help cultivate an environment conducive to helping new businesses locate in Belmont County as well as helping existing businesses grow. With today’s uncertainties, our county government can and must do much more to help our local economy and to improve our quality of life.”
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Diana Kennon has spent more than 15 years as a certified public accountant in private practice. Her considerable consulting expertise has helped numerous local businesses prosper and grow, resulting in the creation of new jobs.
Kennon concluded, “I’ve never run for any political office before, but we need a fresh approach now more than ever. We have seen career politicians take our county, state and nation down a dangerous path and it’s time to steer into a new direction. Reckless spending has to stop, and government must learn to live within its means like you and me, and do things more efficiently and effectively with the resources it does have.”
Diana and Terry, her husband of 21 years, reside in St. Clairsville with their two sons Dan (14) and Nathan (12). Diana and her family are active members of East Richland Evangelical Friends Church and Diana is actively involved in the Ohio Valley Riverfront Development Co., a non-profit organization dedicated to the economic and recreational development of the areas along the Ohio River and the Ohio River Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
